Police suspect the prime accused in the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam used to receive money from Alankar Lodge even when he was in custody.
Commandant R P Pawar, Inspector B K Tiwari and Constable Sarvar Khan are accused of helping the prime accused in the scam pilfer stamps and stamp papers worth Rs 23 crore.
Special Judge B M Sardeshpande asked the defence and prosecution counsels to ensure time on January 11, 2006 when charges would be framed against the accused.
The stay was granted by designated Judge S M Shembole on a plea made by three accused that they wanted to appeal against the court's order in the high court.
Telgi, who has now been behind bars for about five years, was first convicted on January 17, 2006.

Rejecting CBI's request to close the case against Telgi and three others, Additional Sessions Judge Dinesh Dayal said: "It appears that CBI had proceeded to file the closure report merely because the person who should have been an accused refused that he had accepted the money."
